Many families of those with disabilities wish for their loved one to receive services in the family home. Whether that be a parent to child relationship or a sibling, we know that these Family Supports are often the most successful way to provide care to a loved one with a disability. Family Supports are an array of services that provide the right amount of staff to assist the individual in areas that present challenges to independence. These services include: community integration activities, transportation, respite and adaptive living skills. Family Supports allow the individual to build capacity to achieve the highest level of independence possible, connecting them to natural, life-long community supports.
