In 1953, Wabash School for the Exceptional began by serving 10 families in a room at the YWCA. As the school grew, they moved to a local church, then an abandoned school, before breaking ground on the Greenbush campus in 1968. Today, Wabash Center supports more than 700 individuals across various age groups and life stages.
“Wabash Center has meant a lot to us since 1981. Bobby graduated from Wabash Center’s pre-school program and attended workshop half days in high school. Now he is active in adult day services and loves being with his peers each day. The staff treats him with love and care. He goes on outings and has many different activities each week. Wabash Center is his home away from home, and we are so grateful for its existence.”
-Marlene Bibby, Bobby’s mother
