After School & Summer Care
Wabash Center’s After School program provides a safe and engaging environment for school-aged children with disabilities and special needs. Experienced staff members supervise each program, help with homework, and follow each student’s IEP. This service takes the worry out of after school care for families and guardians. We provide transportation from school, offer a healthy snack, and staff our program until 6pm.
Wabash Center also coordinates a summer program for children with special needs. This program begins the first day of summer break and continues to the end of summer. Programs are Monday through Friday, from 8am to 6pm. Participating children and teens join in many daily activities, including field trips, art projects, sensory play, outside games, and special events.
Our goals for Summer Care participants are:
- Continue individual education plans throughout the summer
- Prevent minimal disruption from the learning process
- Continue to practice individual goals throughout the summer
- Provide a safe and nurturing learning environment
- Have fun and enjoy the summer
Both After School and Summer Care programs can be utilized daily, weekly, or on a per need basis. Services are approved for Medicaid Waiver or private pay arrangement.
