Assisted Living Services: Our Team

STAFF INFORMATION AND BIOS

The Assisted Living Services Program at Wabash Center is very proud of our consistent and stable staff team.

In addition to the comprehensive initial training program, staff members are also provided seminars and in-service training programs monthly to ensure the highest quality of care possible.

Director
Holds a degree in elementary education from Purdue University; joined Wabash Center in 1989. "I like being a part of something incredible, and I feel proud of what I do. I get to teach and learn from consumers, staff and families. I feel like I can make a difference in the lives of the people around me."

Senior Quality Assurance Coordinator
Began her Wabash Center career in 1999. Most enjoys "making a difference in people's lives."

Ronda Hicks
Community Living Coordinator

Earned a bachelor's degree from Purdue University in physical education and a master's degree from Indiana University in kinesiology. Ronda joined Wabash Center in 1989 and has worked with children and adults, "I love seeing the folks grow and change."

Community Living Coordinator

Joined Wabash Center in 2002. "I like working here because every day is a different challenge. No matter what kind of day you're having, the consumers will put a smile on your face."

Christopher Hannon
Community Living Coordinator

Chrisgraduated from Purdue University with a BA degree in Secondary Social Studies Education. After graduating he worked several years as a Case Manager and in a group home for adolescent boys removed from their homes by Probation or Child Services. Chris joined Wabash Center in January 2010. "Each consumer has brightened my day at some point. I also love that my job exposes me to so many wonderful people with such different personalities and special gifts and strengths."

Supported Living & In Home Program Coordinator

Holds a nursing assistant diploma; worked four years with the elderly; began working with Wabash Center consumers who live in their apartments in 2000. "Whether it's teaching new skills, developing professional relationships in the community or giving families peace of mind that their loved one is being taken care of, I like helping people and helping consumers achieve a meaningful life."

Office Manager
Joined Wabash Center in 2005. "I love the consumers and what they teach me about life."

Barb Carmichael
Registered Nurse
Barb graduated from Ivy Tech in 1974, and Purdue University in 1977 as a Registered Nurse. Barb has had many life experiences and working with individuals who have disabilities is the ones she treasures most. The neatest thing about Wabash Center - "I met my husband while working here (in 1978). Now that has been a real experience!"
