Adult Day Services

ABOUT OUR PROGRAM

Our Adult Day Services program, housed on the Wabash Center campus, provides facility-based and community-based habilitation services for adults with special needs, and prevocational and daily living lessons for adults with severe or profound intellectual disabilities.

Facility-based habilitation focuses on nutrition and cooking classes. In the community, staff assists consumers with volunteer activities, doctors' appointments, shopping, going to the library, and participating in recreational and leisure programs and other opportunities.

Learning activities for daily living include lessons in personal hygiene, cleaning, money, intellectual challenges—such as puzzles—and creative expression opportunities through crafts, art and music.

Many also master job-readiness skills then spend part of their day working at our Greenbush Industries division, where they enjoy earning a paycheck.

Our focus is to help our consumers increase their independence and the quality of their lives.
